Job summary

Getman Corporation is seeking a qualified Fitter/Welder I to lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components for structural forms in Bangor, MI. You will use welding techniques across GTAW, MCAW, GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW, read blueprints, and prepare parts per WPDS.

Experience with cranes, fixture setup, and team collaboration is essential. The starting rate is $27.45 per hour; candidates should have 1-year certificate or 3–5 years of welding experience, with CWB certificates preferred.

Qualifications

• One year certificate or 3–5 years related welding experience.
• CWB Welding Certificates are a strict requirement.
• Ability to read and layout parts from complex prints.
• Experience with jig fabrication and automated equipment.
• Basic math and arithmetic reasoning.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components per welding specs.
• Weld using GTAW, MCAW, GMAW, FCAW, SMAW processes.
• Read blueprints and WPDS; set up weld schedules.
• Operate welding equipment and prepare surfaces for welding.
• Inspect welds and perform repairs as needed.
• Train novices and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Attend to equipment maintenance and cross-functional tasks.
