Cornerstone Building Brands in Mount Pleasant, IA, is seeking a skilled welder/fitter to join our manufacturing team. You will coordinate welder settings, gun speed, and gas flow, read tape measures and blueprints, operate overhead cranes, and maintain bead quality while following safety rules in a dynamic production environment.

An associate degree or 2-year college credential, or 1–3 years welding experience, is required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent from a 2-year College or technical school; or 1–3 years welding experience in manufacturing.
• Read blueprints and drawings.
• Read and comprehend documents including safety rules and operating instructions.
• Ability to communicate information effectively one-on-one and in small groups.
• Perform general mathematic calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, percentages, and division.
• Required to use power hand tools.
• Required to drive a forklift.
• Ability to read measuring devices (tape measure, protractor, micrometer).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate welder settings, gun speed/travel and gas flow with bead condition.
• Read a tape measure and blueprints to shop standard.
• Operate overhead crane and other lifting equipment.
• Maintain beads to specified shapes, sizes, and penetrations while ensuring product quality.
• Support continuous improvement in the work area.
