Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a skilled Tool & Die machinist at our Brea, CA facility. You will set up and operate CNC and conventional equipment to fabricate tooling, dies, and fixtures using precise layouts and blueprints.

You will work with exotic and composite materials and support process improvements for quality tooling. Attention to detail, strong math skills, and experience reading technical documents are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 5-7 years of experience in a tool room environment or equivalent in a fastener manufacturer.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical docs.
• Experience with ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates conventional and CNC lathes, mills, grinders, honing machines, center laps, and other equipment.
• Performs complex machining to exact dimensional and tolerance requirements.
• Produces tooling and components through detailed layouts and sketches.
• Works with exotic materials and applies processes like EDM, grinding, welding and heat treatment as required.
• Proves, tests, and troubleshoots tooling and machinery to resolve issues.
