ExcelliSearch, Inc. is seeking an experienced Tool Designer to develop tooling, jigs, fixtures, and gauges supporting efficient production and consistent quality. You will translate part requirements into accurate designs, create detailed drawings, and aid tooling fabrication and implementation.

The role involves working with engineering, production, and quality teams to optimize setup times, reliability, and repeatability across machining and assembly operations.

Qualifikationen

• Associate degree or technical training in mechanical design or related field.
• Experience designing tooling, jigs, fixtures, or related manufacturing equipment.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or Creo.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and tolerances.
• Knowledge of machining processes and tooling materials.
• Ability to design for accessibility, repeatability, and clamping.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects across departments.

Aufgaben

• Design tooling, jigs, fixtures, and manufacturing aids for machining, assembly, and inspection operations.
• Create and revise 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and bills of materials.
• Review part drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements to determine appropriate tooling concepts.
• Apply GD&T and tolerance analysis to ensure manufacturability.
• Select tooling materials and manufacturing methods.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, machinists, toolmakers, and quality teams.
• Support tooling fabrication, tryouts, validation, and production implementation.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues and recommend improvements for accuracy and usability.
• Maintain design documentation and revision control.
• Coordinate with outside tooling suppliers as needed.
