Job summary

Andritz AG in Lancaster, OH seeks a skilled welder to set up and operate TIG and plasma welding equipment to butt-weld tube sections, and to grind welds for a smooth finish. The role requires following welding procedures and maintaining quality control with supervision as needed.

Responsibilities include reading work instructions, positioning parts on fixtures, and ensuring proper gas flow and wire usage. The candidate will also cut tubes to order and maintain a clean, safe work area.

Qualifications

• Set-up and operate TIG and automatic inert gas welding equipment to butt-weld tubing.
• Grinds welds smooth and welds wear beads using TIG process and straightens tubes.
• Weld procedures must be followed as specified.
• Inspect own work; in-process/final checks by others.
• Cooperate with shop personnel to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Receives work instructions from supervisor.
• Operates TIG and/or electric arc welding equipment to butt-weld tubing.
• Positions work on fixtures, rotators, or positioners for welding.
• Uses prescribed methods, gas flow, and welding wire; checks settings.
• Cuts tubes to length with abrasive cut-off saw; grinds to tolerances.
• Inspects finished work and maintains clean work area.
