Job summary

PCC Structurals - Carson City is seeking an experienced Level 2 TIG Welder to restore aerospace investment castings. You will perform TIG repairs, select filler materials, and follow approved procedures to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality.

The role requires independent work, the ability to interpret welding maps and specifications, and familiarity with nickel-based alloys. Training and mentoring of junior welders may be involved.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated TIG/GTAW welding experience required.
• Ability to read welding procedures, maps, and instructions.
• Experience with aerospace alloys or casting repairs preferred.
• Able to work independently and plan welding sequence.
• Mentor less-experienced welders when assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG/GTAW repairs on aerospace investment castings.
• Repair defects such as cracks, porosity, pits, and voids.
• Apply weld build-up to restore dimensional requirements.
• Review shop orders, specifications, weld maps, and instructions.
• Determine weld location, filler material, and repair requirements.
• Plan welding sequence including preparation, preheating, weld application, and finishing.
• Select filler rod and welding parameters based on alloy.
• Maintain weld quality and inspect visually before and after repairs.
• Log repairs and update production systems.
• Troubleshoot weld-repair challenges and mentor others.
