Weiss-Aug, a long-standing leader in precision manufacturing and innovation, seeks a skilled Surface Grinder to join our New Kensington team. You will set up, program and operate grinding equipment to produce precision tooling components in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Five years working experience in similar work environment.
• Blueprint reading, metalworking, drafting classes.
• Desire to take classes as needed to gain additional skills needed to succeed in tool and die manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate grinding equipment as necessary for the manufacturing of specific tooling components.
• Align, secure, and adjust cutting tools and workpieces.
• Grind machine parts to high tolerance specifications.
• Measure, examine and test to ensure conformance to specifications and defect-free parts.
• Record labor time spent on each job.
• Use measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Assist internal and external customers with various manufacturing processes.
