Job summary

Freund-Vector Corporation is seeking a welder/polisher responsible for precision welding and polishing of stainless-steel weldments to specifications. Duties include reading blueprints, selecting welding methods (TIG/MIG), and preparing parts to exact measurements.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, AWS welding certification, and at least three years of welding and polishing experience in challenging environments, with strong safety and teamwork focus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; metallurgy knowledge.
• Professional AWS welding certification required.
• Minimum 3 years’ welding experience (TIG, MIG, etc.) and metal polishing experience.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and drawings; take/read measurements to plan layout.
• Select welding method based on requirements and prepare components.
• Set up components for welding; cut material to match measurements.
• Operate grinders to prepare parts for welding/polishing.
• Align components using calipers and clamps; weld in various positions.
• Weld components per blueprints; fabricate or repair as required.
• Repair machinery by welding pieces and filling gaps; inspect welds for FV specs.
• Maintain equipment safely and ensure personal and team safety.
• Complete work within timeline and budget; match work orders.
• Deburr, buff or polish materials to specifications.
• Distribute finished work according to orders.
