Job summary

MEC in Defiance, Ohio seeks an experienced Spot Weld Operator to set up and run spot weld machinery. You will adjust welder settings, replace tips, load/unload parts, and ensure weld quality using inspection tools and measurement equipment.

Responsibilities include following safety rules, maintaining punctuality, reading quality tools, entering data into ERP, performing basic maintenance, and meeting schedule milestones for efficient production.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to operate cranes, overhead hoists.
• Ability to use quality inspection equipment.
• Proficient and basic math and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety and environmental procedures.
• Come to work everyday, on time as scheduled.
• Read and use quality tools to ensure parts meet standards.
• Examine welds and unload parts to verify quality.
• Enter part information/inventory in ERP system.
• Load, setup, operate spot welding equipment.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance to keep welder running.
• Inspect welds during welding process and verify first piece.
• Execute scheduling board.
• Operate motorized walking stacker as needed.
