Job summary

Toledo Tool & Die, located near the Michigan/Ohio border with facilities in Toledo and Pioneer, seeks a Sort Operator for Pioneer, Ohio. The role supports quality inspection, sorting, and sampling of manufactured parts to ensure specifications are met. Overtime, first shift, and a starting wage of $17.00/hour are included.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspections.
• Basic math and measurement skills; ability to use rulers, calipers, and gauges.
• Good vision and manual dexterity to handle small parts.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and measure materials, parts, and assemblies for defects, wear, or deviations from specifications.
• Use measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions.
• Record inspection data including dimensions, weights, grades, and quantities.
• Identify and remove defective parts and mark items with proper status.
• Communicate quality or production issues to supervisors and team members.
• Monitor production operations to ensure products meet standards.
• Perform minor part rework when required (e.g., burrs, chips, surface imperfections).
• Stack, package, or prepare inspected parts for next stage or shipment.
• Maintain documentation of inspections and daily activities.
• Follow company safety policies and keep work area clean.
