Job summary

Army National Guard Units in Nevada’s National Guard Marksmanship Training Unit seeks a SMALL ARMS REPAIRER to rebuild, customize and maintain a variety of small arms used in competitive marksmanship.

The position emphasizes repairs and modifications for precision firearms, with opportunities to instruct and contribute to match weapon maintenance programs; a Secret clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, accurizes, overhauls, rebuilds and maintains a wide variety of small arms used in competitive marksmanship matches.
• Modifies weapons to increase accuracy and reliability; customizes barrels, fits stocks, and tunes trigger mechanisms to achieve desired performance.
• Operates machine tools (drills, grinders, lathes, milling machines) for repair, modification and rebuilding of match weapons; conducts fittings for international equipment.
• Serves as instructor or assistant instructor in the Match Weapons Maintenance Course and conducts maintenance trainings for state and national squads.
• Test fires each weapon and ammunition lot to verify reliability and safety standards.
