Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor steel slitting equipment to process flat-rolled steel coils to customer specifications.
• Review work orders, coil identification, gauges, widths, and production requirements before and during each run.
• Assist with machine setup, threading, changeovers, adjustments, and production checks.
• Monitor line speed, material flow, edge quality, surface condition, tooling, and finished product quality.
• Complete production paperwork, labels, tags, and system entries accurately.
• Communicate equipment issues, downtime, and quality concerns to supervisors and team members.
• Work closely with Helpers, Material Handlers, QA, Packaging, Shipping & Receiving, and Production Leadership to keep operations running smoothly.
• Follow all safety procedures, including PPE requirements, machine guarding, lockout/tagout procedures, and pinch-point awareness.
