United Shade LLC seeks a Saw Operator for the window shade assembly line in Elkhart, IN. You will safely operate a chop saw, measure components, and ensure cuts meet specifications while maintaining quality and throughput.

Responsibilities include reading work orders, inspecting parts, and documenting production and quality data to support downstream assembly. A focus on safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement is essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to safely operate chop saw and follow work instructions.
• Read and follow work orders, cut lists, and quality specifications.
• Accurately measure lengths with tape measure and gauges before cutting.
• Inspect parts for dimensions, burrs, defects, and quality.
• Maintain 6S and safe-material handling practices.

Responsibilities

• Safely set up and operate a chop saw to cut aluminum and plastic extruded components to specified lengths for window shade assembly.
• Read and follow work orders, cut lists, standardized work instructions, visual aids, and quality specifications for each component.
• Use a tape measure and gauges to measure extrusion lengths accurately and confirm saw settings before cutting.
• Position and support extrusions to produce straight, accurate cuts while preventing damage.
• Inspect first-piece, WIP, and finished components for defects and conformity.
• Identify nonconforming material, stop production when needed, and report concerns.
• Perform routine saw checks, blade inspections, minor adjustments, and basic maintenance.
• Complete production, scrap, quality, and traceability documentation accurately.
• Maintain orderly saw area and practice 6S standards.
