Job summary

ATI is seeking a Roll Grinder for our Hot Rolling Processing Facility in Brackenridge, PA. The role involves heavy assembly and regrinding of mill rolls for a Hot Mill application, requiring precise measurement and skilled tooling handling.

Candidates should have a Journeyman credential in General Machining or Tool & Die, at least three years of relevant experience, and the ability to read blueprints in metric and imperial units.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an approved apprentice program with Journeyman papers in General Machining or Tool & Die trades.
  • Minimum of three years' experience as Roll Grinder, Machinist, or Tool & Die trades operator on manual & automated machines.
  • Must pass a mechanical aptitude test and be able to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate test equipment and maintain records.
  • Repair roll grinding machines and equipment.
  • Select, mount and install grinding wheels on machines.
  • Operate overhead and jib cranes to move rolls and assemblies.
  • Rough turn and finish grind rolls to specified tolerances.
  • Inspect roll surface quality using various measuring tools.
  • Read and interpret sketches/blueprints in metric and imperial units.
  • Adjust, lubricate and maintain Roll Grinder machines.
