Job summary

stow is seeking a Quality Inspector to join our Atlanta-area team. You will motivate and ensure incoming parts comply with QSHE standards, inspect shipments, read blueprints, and maintain precise records.

This role requires at least a high school diploma and 2 years in manufacturing quality inspection, with experience in steel fabrication or pallet racking preferred. You will collaborate across Purchasing, Production, and Engineering to resolve issues.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience in steel fabrication, roll forming, structural steel, or welded racking manufacturing is highly preferred.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Proficient in using precision measuring instruments, especially calipers and micrometers.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel and inspection documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Motivate and ensure incoming parts meet QSHE standards.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in a safe, efficient, and quality-focused manner.
  • Promote a Lean mindset and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that all activities and processes comply with QSHE standards, policies, work instructions, and local legislation.
  • Quality control of receiving goods according to the blueprint and recording it.
  • Verify dimensions using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, tape measures, height gauges, and go/no-go gauges.
  • Identify, document, and report nonconforming materials.
  • Complete inspection reports and maintain accurate quality records.
  • Work with Purchasing, Production, Engineering, and suppliers to resolve quality issues.
  • Maintain calibration awareness of inspection equipment.
  • Quality and quantity checks of shipping goods.
  • Support Quality Specialist with sorts of suspect materials.
  • Report to the Quality Department Manager.
