Job summary

Reliance Gear Corporation is seeking a skilled Quality Technician for the Second Shift to ensure all products meet customer, company, and industry specifications. This hands-on role works with production, engineering, and suppliers to maintain and improve quality on the shop floor.

The ideal candidate will have strong inspection experience, be proficient with blueprint reading and precision measuring tools, and be comfortable in a precision manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in manufacturing and/or quality assurance.
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring equipment
• Basic math and geometry skills
• Calibration experience required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Experience with bevel gear manufacturing preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform first piece, in-process, and final inspections
• Inspect incoming vendor materials and outgoing customer shipments
• Read and interpret blueprints, customer specifications, and control plans
• Program and operate manual and CNC CMMs (PC-DMIS / Modus preferred)
• Perform and maintain calibration activities
• Identify and reject nonconforming materials and assist with corrective actions
• Assist production employees with proper measurement methods
• Support PPAP / ISIR, process capability studies, and first article activities
• Organize quality documentation and customer files
• Participate in internal audits and supplier quality activities
