Job summary

Kennametal Inc. in Roanoke Rapids, NC seeks an Experienced Quality Technician to maintain lab effectiveness, perform dimensional and visual inspections, calibrate equipment, and report results to Quality Management.

The role requires gage calibration, SAP data handling, and strong communication in a manufacturing environment. The position operates on the 3rd shift (10:45pm–7:15am) within a safety-focused, diverse plant.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma and strong communication skills.
• Gage calibration and maintenance experience required.
• Proficient with SAP, Microsoft Office and GageTrak.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Vocational training or equivalent industry exposure is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional and visual measurements using comparators and gages.
• Calibrate and maintain calibration software.
• Conduct in-process inspections of inserts and report findings.
• Support internal process audits and data entry in SAP.
• Read part prints, interpret dimensions, and verify spec adherence.
• Maintain records and communicate with Quality Manager and teams.
