Job summary

Seaway Plastics is seeking a Quality Inspector to join our team in Vadnais Heights, MN. In this hands-on role, you will perform visual and dimensional inspections on precision-molded plastic products, verify specifications, and drive a culture of quality and continuous improvement to ensure defect-free parts for customers.

You will review drawings, interpret specifications, and develop inspection plans with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of quality inspection experience in plastics or manufacturing.
• Proficient with handheld measuring instruments; experience with optical comparators and injection molding equipment.
• Able to interpret engineering drawings and specifications; GD&T knowledge is beneficial.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving, first-piece, in-process, and final inspections, including AQL sampling and testing; provide first-piece approval within authority.
• Review drawings, specs, work instructions, and regulatory requirements to determine acceptance; develop inspection plans with Quality, Eng., and Manufacturing.
• Use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, vision systems, optical comparators, and other tools to verify conformity and prepare reports.
• Identify, document, and communicate nonconformances; maintain NCRs and logs.
