Job summary

Unknown is seeking a Quality Engineer for our precision manufacturing facility in the United States. You will analyze product and process quality, implement corrective actions, and ensure customer requirements and product integrity are met.

Responsibilities include PFMEA, MSA studies, CAPA, and QMS management, with a focus on improving machining and heat treatments, collaborating with engineering and production teams, and training staff on new quality tools and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Professional quality engineering experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of quality principles, materials, assembly, testing, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T.
  • Apply PFMEA, Control Plans, and SPC.
  • Familiarity with quality inspection methods for military and commercial standards.
  • CQE (ASQ) or CQA (ASQ) certification preferred.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Capable to function in a high-technology manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Execute customer validation projects including PFMEAs, process flow diagrams, Control Plans, and MSA studies.
  • Analyze quality issues to perform root cause investigations using 5-Why analysis and standard problem-solving techniques.
  • Manage Quality Management System (QMS) protocols, KPI creation, and corrective/preventative action (CAPA) programs.
  • Develop key metrics and prepare monthly quality reports for management review and CAPA board evaluations.
  • Focus on improving process capabilities across machining operations and special processes such as heat treating and plating.
  • Interface cross-functionally with engineering, production, quality control, and maintenance teams to resolve technical problems.
  • Establish standard work procedures to meet customer integrity requirements and maintain product quality goals.
  • Assist in identifying, analyzing, and disposing of nonconformances while supporting customer MRB reviews.
  • Review internal audit findings to establish risk mitigation countermeasures and preventive controls.
  • Facilitate training on newly deployed quality tools, procedures, and standards for shop floor and management personnel.
