Job description

Reports to: Quality Supervisor | Department: 515

What a day looks like

You start your shift on the manufacturing floor, moving between incoming materials and final assemblies. With calipers, micrometers, and gauges in hand, you verify critical dimensions, confirm specifications, and document every finding. When something is off, you flag it immediately, partner with production, and help drive corrective action. By the end of the day, you’ve kept products flowing, issues contained, and records pristine.

What you’ll do
  • Inspect incoming materials, in-process components, and finished goods against established standards and specifications.
  • Measure features using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to confirm dimensional accuracy.
  • Record inspection outcomes, noting any defects and nonconformances with complete traceability.
  • Authorize only conforming product to move to the next operation or shipment.
  • Assist with care, maintenance, and calibration of inspection equipment.
  • Communicate quality issues to the Quality Supervisor and collaborate with manufacturing to resolve discrepancies.
  • Support root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for quality problems.
  • Conduct internal audits and contribute to continuous improvement, including 5S and Lean activities.
  • Maintain inspection records, test data, and nonconformance reports.
  • Help onboard and cross-train new quality inspectors across multiple inspection tasks.
  • Model excellent attendance, professionalism, and alignment with company values.
  • Review First Article Inspections (FAI).
  • Manage DSGV for colling, Boeing, GE, Pratt, Mitsubishi, and Avio.
  • Respond promptly to customer emails.
  • Receive in certs and ensure proper documentation and filing.
  • Collect and locate samples; update the receiving list daily for accuracy and time management.
  • Update the finals list twice weekly so manufacturing can quickly access samples for final inspection and leadership can see completion status, timestamp, and approved/rejected quantities.
What you bring
  • 1–3 years in quality inspection or manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of quality control methods, inspection techniques, and measurement tools.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, work instructions, and standards.
  • Keen eye for detail with a knack for spotting defects and nonconformance.
  • Clear communicator who collaborates well across teams.
  • Hands‑on experience with calipers, micrometers, and gauges; able to maintain basic inspection tools.
  • Comfort with computers and quality documentation systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Work details
  • Environment: Manufacturing floor exposure to industrial equipment, noise, and varying temperatures.
  • Physical Demands: Frequent standing, walking, bending; occasional lifts up to 50 pounds.
  • Schedule: Full‑time, Monday–Friday, with flexibility for extended hours or weekends as needed to meet production demands.
  • Travel: Minimal, primarily for training or inter‑facility coordination.
