Job summary

CCI Group of Companies is seeking a Quality Control Technician to inspect machined components and verify conformance to drawings, GD&T, and customer requirements in a machine shop setting. You will document results, support root cause analysis, and ensure calibration and traceability of tools and materials.

Responsibilities include performing inspections, recording quality data, identifying non-conformances, and communicating issues to supervisors while maintaining a safe, organized inspection

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of dimensional inspection methods and tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Basic computer skills for recording inspection results.
  • Technical training or post-secondary education in quality/manufacturing or machining (preferred).
  • Experience inspecting machined components to tight tolerances (preferred).
  • Knowledge of GD&T (preferred).
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, API, or customer-specific requirements (preferred).
  • Experience with CMM inspection or advanced measurement tools (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of machined parts and assemblies.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and quality requirements.
  • Inspect components using precision measuring tools and inspection equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, indicators).
  • Verify dimensions, tolerances, surface finish, and workmanship.
  • Complete inspection reports, quality records, and traceability documentation accurately.
  • Identify, document, and report non-conforming materials or products.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action processes as required.
  • Communicate to the supervisor all non-conformities; final scrap decisions at supervisory level.
  • Calibrate and ensure proper maintenance of measuring devices; stop if out of tolerance and inform supervisor.
  • Track Outside Service PO’s to ensure parts return and costs are on the job.
  • Know customer specifications and ensure proper marking and shipping documents are included.
  • Stencil parts as specified and refer to QC Manual as needed.
  • Know API and ISO specifications or know where to find answers.
  • Submit delivery tickets promptly to begin pricing and billing cycles.
  • Ensure router sequences are initialed; report uninitialized sequences to supervisor.
  • Communicate inspection results and quality concerns to production, engineering, and quality teams.
