Job summary

Invio Automation in Macomb, IL is seeking a Proto Trak machinist to set up, program and operate three‑axis mills to produce precision parts. You will translate blueprints into machined components and may repair or modify parts to keep tools and equipment in top condition.

This role requires measuring with micrometers, calipers, and height gauges, and maintaining quality through first piece inspection. A HS diploma or associate degree is expected, with experience on Accu-Rite or similar systems

Qualifications

• Advanced blueprint interpretation and tolerance calculation.
• Fabricate parts to specifications using Bridgeport’s, lathes, milling machines or grinders.
• Programming of three axis Proto Trak with conversational SMX control.
• In-process and first piece inspection using micrometers, indicators, calipers and height gauges.
• Set up, adjust and operate basic machine tools and deburr operations.
• Align and secure fixtures, cutting tools and materials on machines.
• Monitor feed and speed during machining.

Responsibilities

• Calculate dimensions and tolerances and interpret blueprints.
• Machine parts to specifications using Bridgeports, lathes, mills or grinders.
• Program Proto Trak SMX three-axis control.
• Perform in-process and first piece inspections with precision tools.
• Set up and operate basic machine tools and deburring operations.
• Align fixtures, tools, and materials on machines.
• Monitor feed and speed during machining.
• Study drawings to determine methods and sequences of operations.
• Additional duties as requested by management.
