Job summary

Universal Plastics - Middlefield is seeking a press operator to support manufacturing by producing, assembling, and packaging molded parts that meet customer specifications. You will trim, inspect, and perform secondary operations while maintaining cycle times and documenting production data.

Ideal candidates have strong attention to detail, good math skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect molded parts using posted work instructions and quality standards.
• Assemble and package finished products according to specifications.
• Ensure accuracy of product and carton counts.
• Document scrap accurately on process monitors and production paperwork.
• Immediately report scrap, rework, quality concerns, or equipment issues to the supervisor or team lead.
• Verify availability and accuracy of raw materials, components, cartons, and labels at the workstation.
• Remove molded parts from the injection molding machine while maintaining established cycle times.
• Trim flash and inspect parts to meet quality requirements.
• Perform secondary operations such as hot stamping, milling, sonic welding, heat staking, assembly, or decorating.
• Label cartons and code products as required.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and legibly.
• Rework nonconforming products and document appropriately.
• Use visual tools and display boards to support production.
• Participate in problem‑solving activities and follow ISO procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
