Job summary

Carpenter & Paterson, Inc. is seeking a full-time Press Break Operator at our Waggaman, LA location. Operators will run hydraulic/mechanical press equipment, maintain quality, and support production targets in a warm, on-site environment.

Shifts available: 6:00am–2:30pm or 3:00pm–1:30am. Benefits include 401k with company matching, disability insurances, and health plans. Weekly pay and paid holidays are offered to eligible employees.

Qualifications

• Must be able to measure quickly and accurately.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Be able to stand and work in a warm environment for long periods of time.
• Good working knowledge of figures and numbers.
• Be able to work quickly and efficiently.
• Be able to lift and carry heavy objects (over 50 pounds).

Responsibilities

• Operate press brake & Plate Roll equipment in accordance with the work order.
• Assist the department foreman in meeting production targets.
• Maintain quality standards.
• Keep work area clean and orderly.
• Notify managers concerning any non-conformities and the need for repairs to the facility or equipment.
• Maintain a healthy and safe working environment.
