Job summary

Westerman, Inc. is seeking a skilled Painter to join our on-site manufacturing team in a multi-site operation. You will prepare products for coating, operate spray equipment, and ensure paint quality without supervision.

The role requires experience with industrial painting, the ability to titrate and adjust spray wash chemistries, and to perform thickness checks and adhesion tests. OSHA safety training is required, and familiarity with paint booths is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of industrial painting experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of powder paint booth & powder coat process.
• Ability to read and understand bill of material required.
• Must titrate and adjust chemical level seven-stage spray wash.
• May also perform advanced wet painting.
• Must be able to adjust machine as needed to maintain quality and production.
• Must be proficient at troubleshooting most common recurring problems.
• Must be able to correctly complete the production report as specified in SOP.
• OSHA safety training required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare product prior to paint application.
• Prepare paint equipment as required.
• Paint product per job instructions.
• Take mil thickness readings and adjust when out of specification.
• Perform cross hatch paint adhesion test.
• Check paint booth for wear or malfunction and replace as needed.
• Assist in cleaning paint booths.
• Handle paint, paint-related materials, and hazardous wastes properly.
• Change color modules for paint booths.
• Other duties as required and assigned.
