Job summary

IMI is seeking a Polishing/Honing Technician to polish, hone, lap, and finish precision components in a manufacturing setting. The role involves operating polishing equipment, verifying surface finish with profilometers, and maintaining quality and safety standards.

You will progress through levels C, B, and A, advancing skills while supporting continuous improvement and abiding by 5S, housekeeping, and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, polishing, machining or honing is preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with precision components.

Responsibilities

• Operate buffing wheels, hand tools, automatic polishing machines and other basic polishing equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing specifications.
• Meet surface finish requirements and maintain clean, safe, organized work area (5S).
• Set up, operate honing and finishing equipment; grind tooling as needed.
• Train and mentor junior operators as directed.
