Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an Intermediate Pipe Welder to plan, lay-out, weld, install, test and repair pipe assemblies in accordance with plans, specs and codes. You will coordinate with field crews to ensure precise, safe installations and repairs.

You will set up welding gear, lay-out piping, perform welds independently with high precision, and comply with safety, design and production standards. Willingness to work outdoors, overtime, nights, and weekends as workload requires is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with field experience.
• Must have practical welding and pipe fitting knowledge.
• Able to follow written and oral instructions and communicate with supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Plan, diagram and lay-out for pipe welder's work.
• Coordinate with field labor crew for efficient installations.
• Position the weld set up, fit piping and perform welds with high precision.
• Lay-out, assemble pipes according to production standards and specs.
• Make welding repairs and address substandard welds.
• Assist with pre-fabrication layout or installation tasks.
• Assist with rigging of material.
• Operate air arc gouger, grinder and other welding tools.
