Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated in Iron Mountain, Michigan seeks a skilled Weld Operator to weld and grind contract products and perform scheduled maintenance of equipment. You will set up machines, inspect quality, record production data, and perform rework as needed to meet company standards.

Mig welding experience is preferred and a welding test may be required. Reading drawings and using calipers or gauges are essential, along with operating cranes, forklifts, and grinders in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Mig welding experience is preferred.
• Operator will be required to pass a welding test.
• Must have the ability to read and interpret drawings and routing sheets.
• Must be able to satisfactorily use calipers, gauges, and other measuring devices.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust machines and equipment to produce acceptable quality products.
• Perform quality tests, certifications, and production checks as required by QA or supervisor.
• Visually inspect products, record production data, report scrap, and rework as assigned.
• Make routine equipment adjustments to ensure process efficiency and welding to company standards.
• Manually repair or hand weld some products below standard.
• Operate overhead crane, forklift, hand held grinder, and other department equipment.
