Job summary

Staff Perm in Bozeman, MT is seeking an Optical Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our laser-focused production team. You will assemble and align laser subassemblies, work with precision optics and electronics, and operate lasers and calibration tools to support active alignment.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 2–3 years of manufacturing or laser-module experience, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• U.S. citizen or Legal Permanent Resident.
• 2–3 years experience in manufacturing or laser module assembly.
• Experience in electronics, aerospace, or high-tech industries.
• Detail-oriented with manual dexterity.
• Able to follow instructions and work safely with lasers and high-voltage equipment.
• Prior work with solid-state diode-pumped lasers.
• Strong computer skills (MS Office, network navigation).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and align complex laser subassemblies following detailed instructions.
• Work with precision optics, microscopes, and electronic test equipment.
• Operate lasers and calibration tools to support active alignment.
• Clean optics to laser-grade finish using chemicals and adhesives.
• Create and update production documents and work instructions.
• Support new product builds and process development.
• Assist teammates with techniques and troubleshooting.
• Occasionally work in a Class 1000 Cleanroom environment.
• Contribute to a high-quality, safety-focused production culture.
