Job summary

Phillips, Inc. is seeking a dependable Mini Excavator Operator to run compact equipment on construction sites. You will dig, lift, and grade while reading project plans and maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities include daily equipment checks, coordinating with the team to meet timelines, and documenting usage and maintenance. A high school diploma and experience are required; GPS familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years experience operating mini excavators and similar equipment in construction.
• Valid operator certification and driver’s license preferred.
• Familiarity with GPS-guided equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate mini excavators and compact construction equipment for digging, lifting, and grading.
• Interpret project plans and specifications to determine excavation layouts and material needs.
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on equipment and report issues to supervision.
• Collaborate with the construction team to meet project timelines and specifications.
• Follow OSHA safety guidelines and wear required PPE.
• Adjust operating methods for different conditions to protect utilities and property.
• Communicate with supervisors and coworkers to coordinate tasks on site.
• Maintain records of equipment usage, maintenance, and work performed.
• Attend safety meetings and training sessions as required.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor, including labor tasks when not operating machinery.
