Job summary

Argon Industries- Milwaukee Facility seeks a GMAW Fabrication Specialist focused on first‑article and fixture work. You will collaborate with Engineering to design and build fixtures and perform MIG welding to meet tight tolerances.

You will read blueprints, inspect welds, maintain a clean, safe workstation, and participate in ongoing training to grow your capabilities. Shifts include 1st and 2nd with a premium on the second.

Qualifications

• Technical training in welding preferred.
• Hands‑on MIG welding experience or similar role.
• Solid knowledge of welding processes, safety and practices.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Physical stamina for welding tasks.
• AWS D1.1 certification or ability to pass test.
• TIG and robotic welding exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Engineering to design and build fixtures; fit up complex first articles.
• Perform MIG welding on multiple metals and geometries with consistency.
• Read and interpret blueprints to meet specifications.
• Inspect welds for quality and conformance to standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe workstation and follow safety protocols.
• Collaborate with the team to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Conduct routine care and maintenance on welding equipment.
• Participate in ongoing training to expand capabilities.
