Job summary

Robert Bosch Group in Albion, IN seeks an Albion Metrologist to measure parts with CMMs and software, develop fixtures, and generate reports from CMM data. You will advise on measurement problems and help maintain calibration systems.

The role requires an Associate's degree, blueprint reading, and experience with PCDMIS/QUINDOS/QVPAK; travel for training and possible overtime are expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
• Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
• Blueprint reading required; CAD models experience preferred.
• Programming with PCDMIS, QUINDOS (preferred) and/or QVPAK.
• Experience with tracing and surface roughness measurement a plus.
• Attention to detail, self-motivation and organization skills are necessary.
• Good use of Microsoft Office tools including data entry, formatting, and the creation of charts.

Responsibilities

• Measure parts with Coordinate Measurement Machines using PCDMIS, QUINDOS, QV-Pak, FormTracePak and related software.
• Develop and setup modular fixturing for part measurement.
• Ballooning of drawings and report generation from CMM data and hand measurements.
• Program and use Camera Scanner for part inspection to CAD models.
• Explain layout reports to tooling, molding engineering, and quality engineers as needed.
• Maintain control of inspection equipment and calibration system.
• Promote and support the quality system; travel for training as needed.
