Job summary

Metro Services is seeking experienced Press Operators for a manufacturing facility in Morrison, TN. This temp-to-hire role involves operating metal presses, reading drawings, and performing first-piece and in-process inspections.

You will set up tooling and dies, verify material specs, and maintain safety standards on a fast-paced production line. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of press experience, strong measurement skills, and a commitment to quality parts.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience operating metal presses in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with press setup, tooling changes and die changes.
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and work instructions.
• Comfort using basic precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality parts.

Responsibilities

• Operate mechanical, hydraulic, and punch presses to form, stamp, bend, punch, and shape metal components.
• Set up presses, dies, tooling, and fixtures according to production specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, manufacturing drawings, work instructions, and production specifications.
• Verify material type, thickness, dimensions, and other requirements before production.
• Adjust press settings and tooling to maintain quality and production standards.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures.
• Monitor equipment for unusual noises, vibrations, defects, or other issues; coordinate with maintenance.
• Identify and correct production issues; assist with die/tooling changes and machine setups.
• Complete required production, quality, and inspection documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety procedures.
