Olympic Steel, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator to safely set up and operate equipment to level and stack flat sheets per customer specifications. You will work from customer orders, engineered layouts, and general instructions to ensure productivity and quality.

Qualifications

• High School or GED equivalent preferred.
• Mechanically inclined, production-oriented and safety and quality conscious.
• General knowledge of crane operation and ancillary lifting devices.
• Basic math skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work under general supervision.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to inspect material for quality conformance through the use of measuring devices and drawings.
• Functional literacy.
• Working knowledge of general computer programs preferred.
• Previous experience with precision instruments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate automatic leveling, sheeting, and console-operated equipment to level length and stack weight on flat sheets to customer specifications.
