Job summary

Adaptec Solutions, LLC in Rochester, NY is seeking a Mechanical Designer/Detailer to convert 3D designs into production-ready 2D drawings and assembly documentation for fabrication, installation, and commissioning.

The role requires an associate degree in CAD or drafting and 1–5 years of detailing experience, with a strong eye for detail and teamwork. Collaboration with mechanical engineers and vendors is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in CAD, Drafting, or equivalent experience.
• 1–5 years of mechanical detailing/drafting experience.
• Strong attention to detail to spot inconsistencies between models and drawings.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with GD&T and drawing standards.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate production-ready 2D detail drawings from 3D models for fabrication and external vendors.
• Create assembly drawings and documentation to support the build team.
• Produce installation drawings showing footprint, anchor points, and clearance requirements.
• Create pneumatic schematics to support design, assembly, and troubleshooting.
• Review 3D designs for completeness and identify missing holes, misalignment, or incorrect tolerances.
• Apply proper GD&T and drawing standards; maintain revision control.
