Job summary

Construction Material Testing laboratory technicians convert field samples into numerical data through tests and measurements under a documented quality system. You will follow ASTM D698, D1557, D2216, D4318, C136, and C39 testing protocols using calibrated equipment and maintain rigorous records.

Weekly tasks include logging samples, breaking cylinders, and reporting results the same day. You will train and grow toward supervising laboratory activities while supporting accreditation programs

Qualifications

• Careful hands, clean documentation habits and mechanical aptitude are essential.
• Prior lab or CMT experience is a plus but not required — training is provided.
• Comfortable with repetitive precision work and high accuracy under standard procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform ASTM D698, D1557, D2216, D4318, C136, and C39 testing.
• Maintain calibration, standardization, and quality records.
• Log samples and preserve chain of custody.
• Break cylinders and report strength results the same day.
• Support proficiency sample programs and accreditation assessments.
