Job summary

PrideStaff, Inc. is seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to set up and operate conventional manual machines near Islandia, NY. This full-time, direct-hire role offers a 1st shift with competitive pay of $30.00–$35.00/hour and a benefits package starting day one.

The ideal candidate reads blueprints, uses micrometers and gauges to ensure aerospace tolerances, and maintains tooling and equipment. U.S. citizenship is required due to DoD regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up and operating Manual Lathes (not CNC focused).
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and GD&T.
• Experience using precision instruments (micrometers, bore gauges, calipers).
• High School Diploma or GED; vocational machining training a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, setup, and perform rough and finish machining on conventional machines with focus on Manual Lathes.
• Set up and turn precision components from detailed prints for aerospace tolerances.
• Inspect finished parts with micrometers, verniers, dial gauges.
• Interpret drawings and GD&T and maintain tooling and equipment.
