Job summary

Billerud NA in Quinnesec, MI is seeking a skilled Machinist Maintenance to set up, operate, and repair machine shop equipment to support mill operations. You will work with lathes, mills, grinders and use precision measurement tools to meet tight tolerances and maintain records.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of relevant machining experience preferred.
Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
Proven experience as a machinist with understanding of machining processes and equipment.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and maintain manual machining equipment (lathes, mills, grinders).
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Perform precision machining to required tolerances and maintain records.
Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions.
Support equipment rebuilds, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Troubleshoot machining equipment and tooling issues to minimize downtime.
Perform routine preventive maintenance on machine shop equipment.
Maintain tooling, consumables, and inventory.
Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering teams on equipment concerns.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and reliability.
Respond to operational needs, including overtime or call-outs.
