Job summary

MATTR in Ohio is seeking a Machine Operator for the Conversion department to set up, operate, monitor, and support multiple production processes, ensuring quality and safety.

You will read work orders, measure and feed materials, adjust machines, and collaborate with maintenance and Brady Spooling operations as workload requires. This role requires a High School diploma, manufacturing experience preferred, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read gauges and interpret measurements against specifications.
  • Proficiency with production data entry.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate machines within the Conversion department to meet customer specifications.
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and productivity.
  • Position, adjust, and feed materials manually to complete production orders.
  • Read and interpret work orders to determine product specifications and material requirements.
  • Identify equipment issues, notify supervision of malfunctions, and collaborate with maintenance teams when repairs are required.
  • Operate heavy wall, thin wall, printing, CPC, auto bagger, and end cap work cells.
  • Support operational needs by working across additional Conversion areas, including Brady Spooling operations, based on workload demands.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Contribute to Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) programs that support an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) workplace.
  • Follow established Leader Standard Work requirements and operate equipment safely and effectively.
  • Train new and junior team members on standard operating procedures, safe work practices, and product quality standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
