Job summary

E.A. Dion, Inc. is seeking a Bench Hand to support the Color Department in lacquer and epoxy application. The role runs Monday through Friday, 7am–3:30pm with a half-hour lunch, in a high-variety, low-volume production setting.

Responsibilities include mixing epoxy and lacquer to specs, applying epoxy to small cavities with a pneumatic syringe, spray lacquers via stencils and air brush, and maintaining equipment and work areas. Strong hand–eye coordination and English fluency are required.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to read and follow customer specifications.
• Must have excellent hand–eye coordination and precision.
• Experience or exposure to jewelry-related manufacturing helpful.
• Lean manufacturing concepts knowledge preferred.

• Wipe excess lacquer and inspect finish quality.

• Support all activities in Color Department:
• Accurately mixing epoxy and lacquer to match customer specifications
• Manually applying epoxy to custom shapes in small cavities with pneumatic syringe
• Spray lacquer using stencils and air brush
• Wiping excess lacquer
• Operating sand blasting equipment
• Performing regular maintenance on equipment and work areas
• Personally responsible for high quality output
• Cross train to other departments
• This is a High Variety Low Volume environment. Applicants must be able to adapt to a dynamic work environment where demands and skills are continually changing.

Job Requirements:

• Experience working with colored epoxies
• Speak, read and write English fluently
• Excellent hand eye coordination
• Able to develop effective working relationships with others
• Superb ability to learn and judge acceptable quality parameters quickly
• Rudimentary computer literacy. Able to work within our manufacturing software program
• Ability to identify and solve problems
• Ability to learn from and take ownership of mistakes
• Educational requirements:
  • Minimum of High School or GED
• Experience in Jewelry Industry
• Experience and knowledge of Lean manufacturing concepts.
• Experience operating airbrush equipment.
