Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Laboratory Technician to transform field samples into quantifiable data, operating within an AASHTO R18 quality system with calibrated equipment and strict accountability for every result.

You will perform standard ASTM tests, log samples, break cylinders, and support proficiency programs while training is provided for those new to the lab environment. This role focuses on precision, reliability, and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Careful hands and clean documentation habits are required.
• Prior lab or CMT experience is a plus but training is provided.
• Comfortable with repetitive precision work and strict quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform ASTM D698, D1557, D2216, D4318, C136, and C39 testing.
• Maintain calibration, standardization, and quality records.
• Log samples and preserve chain of custody.
• Break cylinders and report strength results the same day.
• Support proficiency sample programs and accreditation assessments.
