Simmons Foods is seeking a Tool Sharpener on the day shift at our on-site facility in Arkansas. The role involves sharpening cutting utensils, training staff on proper care, and maintaining sharpening equipment to meet safety and USDA requirements.

The ideal candidate will have basic English and math skills, with a high school diploma or GED preferred. This position emphasizes teamwork, adherence to safety procedures, and reliable performance in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• Basic English comprehension.
• Perform basic math skills.
• Preferred: High School diploma or GED; basic computer skills or ability to learn on a computer.

Responsibilities

• Rotates and sharpens all necessary cutting utensils.
• Collects, cleans, and stores all cutting utensils for department use at line startup.
• Maintains sharpening equipment including sharpening stones, buffing wheels, etc.
• Performs daily inventory of all equipment.
• Participates as a team member and supports BEST practices; attends team meetings and helps resolve issues for better synergy.
