Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; spray painting training preferred.
• 3–5 years related experience or equivalent training.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Ability to comprehend and follow English work instructions and safety rules.
• Ability to perform repetitive work with attention to detail and speed.
• Experience with surface prep and painting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following safety procedures and PPE.
• Layout parts on tables for painting preparation.
• Move materials using prescribed handling techniques.
• Prepare and clean metals: degreasing, derusting, phosphatizing, wheelabrating, painting.
• Mix paints to proper viscosity and adjust spray guns for finish and coverage.
• Operate spray painting equipment to produce quality parts.
• Check work using the prescribed quality procedure and notify lead of issues.
• Maintain inspection records and change notices.
• Work to eliminate non-value-added activities and cross-train as needed.
