Job summary

Leidos' Undersea Systems Division seeks a Precision Fiber Optics Winding Technician to support fabrication, assembly, and QA of precision wound fiber optics packs. The role includes assisting in winding lab infrastructure development and thriving in dynamic field/marine environments.

The candidate should be hands-on, mechanically inclined, and prepared for 9/80B schedules on-site, with eligibility for a SECRET clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capability.
• Creating, maintaining and working in clean workspaces.
• HANDLING of HAZMAT materials such as solvents and polyurethane.
• Physical ability to navigate lab, warehouse and travel aboard marine vessels.

Responsibilities

• Winding precision fiber-optic assemblies per engineering specs.
• Quality assurance with meticulous record-keeping and work orders.
• Read, interpret and build to engineering prints.
• Operate or learn NC lathes, drill presses and milling machines.
