Job summary

Nordson Polymer Processing Systems is seeking an experienced assembler to support production by ensuring materials are ready for scheduled dies and by performing a range of assembly operations. The role requires reading blueprints, following specifications, and maintaining cleanliness in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

The candidate will participate in continuous improvement activities such as 5S and kaizen, with emphasis on quality, safety, and timely delivery of assemblies.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and parts specifications.
  • Strong organizational and decision-making skills.
  • 1–3 years of experience in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review bills of materials and ensure parts are available in the assembly area to meet customer delivery dates.
  • Prepare assembly parts according to customer orders.
  • Prepare die bodies after chrome plating by stoning.
  • Study blueprints to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies, or assemblies.
  • Lift and position machined parts on worktables using hoists and vises.
  • Fit and assemble parts to make dies using machine tools and hand tools.
  • File, grind, shim, and adjust parts to fit together.
  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances with calipers and micrometers.
  • Participate in continuous improvement including 5S, kaizen and lean events.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in clean condition.
