Job summary

The Deburr & Detailing Technician at Tri-Valley Career Center finishes machined components by removing burrs, smoothing edges, and refining surface finishes to meet strict quality and cosmetic standards. This role requires precision handwork and strong attention to detail to ensure parts are dimensionally accurate before final inspection.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and experienced in a manufacturing or machine shop.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational/technical training in machining or finishing is a plus.
• 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing, deburring, or precision finishing environments preferred.
• Strong manual dexterity and exceptional attention to detail.
• Experience using detailing hand tools and polishing equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate hand tools and finishing equipment to remove burrs and refine surface finishes.
• Polish, blend, and detail components according to drawings and specifications.
• Interpret blueprints, work orders and travelers to determine finishing requirements.
• Inspect completed parts using magnifiers and precision instruments to verify finish and cosmetic requirements.
• Collaborate with machinists and quality teams to address inconsistencies and improve finishing processes.
