Job summary

Whirlwind Steel is seeking a detail-oriented Data Entry Clerk to support the fabrication shop. The role involves data entry, CAD drawing, nesting, and rigorous quality checking to ensure accurate cut lists and smooth production workflows.

You will answer shop detail questions, review schedules, and coordinate with drafting and production teams. Strong AutoCAD/ProNest experience or willingness to learn is preferred, with high accuracy and organization in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with AutoCAD and ProNest or willingness to learn.
• Strong computer and data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with various teams within the organization.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Input data for generating cut lists while understanding shop methods, equipment capacities, and requirements.
• Review weekly schedules and verify that the documents are available in the shop for every scheduled order.
• Forward shop detail questions to the appropriate parties in a timely manner and process any required revisions.
• Sort Oracle lines and shop details by department to provide accurate information to each fabrication line.
• Utilize CAD and ProNest for CAD drawing, nesting, and quality checking of work to meet shop requirements.
• Collaborate with team to assist in programming, CAD drawing, nesting, and quality checking of work for the shop.
