Job summary

nVent is seeking a skilled Painter to lead surface coating applications and ensure finishes meet quality standards. You will prepare surfaces, mix coatings, and operate spray equipment to apply primers and finishes.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and physical capability to lift heavy materials. Typical shifts run 6:00am–4:30pm, Monday through Thursday with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school, or 3–6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Keen focus on accuracy and precision.
• Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs regularly and over 100 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Load and transport materials to work area.
• Clean and prepare materials to be painted with abrasives and loaded into equipment.
• Regulate pressure and flow for spray operations.
• Apply tape to areas not to be coated.
• Mix paints and additives to prescribed quantities.
• Prepare and adjust spray equipment including nozzles and hoses.
• Spray surfaces with primer or finish coat using correct technique.
• Brush coat areas inaccessible to hand sprayers.
• Clean and maintain equipment and work areas.
• Stage painted products for drying and transfer finished pieces to stockroom or shipping areas.
• Perform preventative maintenance and quality checks on coatings.
• Fill cavities/holes with putty for smooth surfaces.
