Job summary

Harper-Engineering-Company is seeking a CNC Operator for the Turning Department to set up and operate CNC turning machines, monitor quality, and support program/load procedures according to level. This role offers progression from basic operation to advanced setups and mentoring as experience grows.

Levels 1–3 increase responsibilities from machine operation to complex setups, first-piece verification, troubleshooting, and process improvements, with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and on-time

Qualifications

• Experience or training in CNC turning operations.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, travelers, and inspection plans.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC turning equipment and perform basic setup as assigned.
• Load/unload parts, fixtures, tooling, and programs per work instructions.
• Monitor machine for tool wear, offsets, and dimensional stability; perform first-piece verification.
• Perform in-process inspection using micrometers, calipers, and gauges; document results.
• Support maintenance, safety, and housekeeping in the turning department.
