Job summary

CalTek Staffing is seeking an experienced Machinist to set up and operate manual and CNC mills and lathes for R&D, prototype work, and low-volume production in Monrovia, California. The role requires reading blueprints, interpreting specifications, performing tool changes and offsets, and inspecting finished parts to ensure conformance with drawings and process requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up and operating manual and CNC mills and lathes.
• Ability to change tools, adjust offsets, and make setup corrections independently.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and understand mechanical assemblies.
• Experience inspecting machined parts against drawing specifications.
• Strong shop math skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and CNC mills, including 3-axis mills, and lathes.
• Complete machining jobs involving multiple operations and equipment setups.
• Change tooling, set and adjust offsets, and make necessary machine adjustments.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and mechanical assembly drawings.
• Inspect parts using measuring equipment to verify conformance with drawings.
• Perform deburring, grinding, tapping, stock cutting, and other finishing work.
• Follow quality policies, specifications, and shop requirements.
• Keep work organized and complete tasks with accuracy and quality.
